What a slot bonus feature is

A bonus feature is a special round inside a slot game, such as free spins or a pick screen. Whether it starts, and what it pays, is decided by the game's random number generator, the same as every regular spin.

What RTP does and does not tell you

Return to player, or RTP, is the share of money a game pays back on average over a very large number of plays. It does not predict a single session, and a higher payback percentage does not make any one spin more likely to win. Massachusetts' PlayWell program puts typical slot payback at 80 to 95 percent, which means the house keeps the rest over time.
